making a stoneware glaze
from a local earthenware clay

As a teacher, my job is to help
each student find his or her
own way with clay.
Ceramics Instruction at Green River Pottery Studio
I love teaching & and have a lot of experience with both teens & adults. My classes are 'workshop' style - we arrange a time, discuss what you'd like to learn, & work together in the studio. Groups of one to three students are best.
A two-hour time frame is good. Some students schedule just one session; if you're local & would like to schedule a series of sessions over a month or two, that is also an option. A typical student has some experience with clay and may also have a studio space of his or her own. I do teach beginners though. We can cover basic & advanced wheel-throwing techniques; trimming; glazing; glaze formulation; reduction firing; etc.
The cost is $45. per hour per person. This includes all the materials you'll need. Arrangements can also be made for firing & shipping of your finished pieces.
