Become a clay studio intern or resident potter at Green River Pottery
The internship is a work trade allowing enrollment in an eight-week class here at the studio. You also have free access to the studio throughout the week when you’re the intern.
In exchange, two 4-hour shifts per week ‘on duty’ in the studio, when you’ll be helping with basic tasks such as cleaning, organizing, setting up for classes, unloading the bisque kiln. The studio manager helps guide your work & may have particular tasks to assign.
The resident potter also does a work trade - studio access in exchange for two 4-hour shifts in the studio. As with the intern, these shifts need to be planned on the calendar & remain fairly consistent through the two-month period of residency. This position is right for someone who has ‘graduated’ from a class here at the studio & would like to continue developing & learning. Working with the studio manager, your tasks may be more focused - mixing glazes, assisting students, packing & shipping.
Send us an email or give a call to the studio here & discuss if you’re interested! We are happy to answer questions & let you know more information.
These studio positions are assigned on an on-going, rolling, basis. We can let you know if one of them is available now, or we can discuss when it might be possible to set something up.
