Internship at Green River Pottery
The internship here is really more of a residency - less about working specifically under one mentor potter, and more about becoming part of the studio itself. Independence and some specific goals - techniques you want to learn, a body of work you want to make - are important.
Along with that, yes, interns do undertake daily work to help keep the room organized, help students find their way around, clean, help set up for classes, load & unload the kiln.
Usually we work out a schedule of times during the week when you'd be 'on duty', helping maintain the Open Studio for potters & students dropping by to work.
Availability for the intern position is ever-changing, on-going. Good references are important.
Send an email or give me a call to discuss! I would be happy to answer questions & tell you more.
Send thumbnails of your recent work too if you can!
