Weekly classes at Green River Pottery
Every two months we begin a new round of 8-week classes. These can include Potter’s Wheel Primer, Intermediate Wheel, Handbuilding Survey, and Making Glazes.
This summer, we also have two field trips & two geo-ceramic slide talks on the schedule.
Please email if you’d like information or to receive notice when registration opens for new classes!
As a studio potter for almost thirty years, and a middle-school English teacher before that, and a river guide, I’ve developed an enthusiasm for the creative process, and for clay of course, and for the way each class is different, and each potter’s learning style is as different as the pots they make.
Classes at Green River are easygoing, conversational, spontaneous, humorous (depending on the week). They focus on the basics of technique and form, and acknowledge the way we each pursue beauty in our own way.
We study famous potters, and thrift store finds, and try to take a moment to look at our own pieces as they emerge from the kiln.
