Russell returns to offer another round of his popular Thursday evening intro wheel class. This introduces the potter’s wheel, and explores basics of the pottery-making process. The class also provides a terrific introduction to our small studio here at Green River Pottery. 6 weekly class meetings are included - a shorter session than the usual 8, and a reduced price as the holidays approach.
While we do not offer makeups for missed classes, we are often able to arrange for you to drop in on another class for a week to account for an absence.
Potter’s Wheel Primer is a great class if you’ve always wanted to try the wheel, or if it’s been a while. Our classes are easygoing, conversational, methodical with, somehow, room for spontaneity too. We’ll cover clay preparation, centering, throwing, trimming, making handles & lids, as well as glaze application.
Also a great class if you have some experience & would like a weekly studio session to help guide your projects & to learn helpful tips. Each class meeting includes demonstration, discussion, worktime.
Your class registration includes access to our worktime calendar to plan your independent sessions in the studio throughout the week & weekend (the calendar does charge $15 per three-hour session).
We’ll be working with cone 6 clay.
Note: by placing your order for this class, you're consenting to our Participation Guidelines & Liability Release form. Please take a moment to review this form before signing up. Thank you!
Teacher: Russell Schindler
