Another in the series of wheel-thrown & ‘altered’ forms. Sections removed to create openings, sometimes reattached creating a new shape, a new geometry.
A dark, glassy, ‘tenmoku’ glaze inside & out.

A large wheel-thrown form that has been allowed to dry a bit, then darted, reassembled in a new way.
Still a useful & dishwasher-worthy bowl - the goal is a little uncertainty & interruption of the circular shape.
A smooth, durable, drippy, glaze, formulated from clay from the shore of Lake Superior combined with wood ash.

A favorite from the first fall firing. A quiet, low, form, with swirls of white slip brushed underneath the stony satin glaze.

A new design this year - lighter, with a stony opaque glaze & a slightly scratchy surface outside.

A compact wheel-thrown form. Glazed white inside. Unglazed regions at the shoulder & foot reveal the texture of the local hand-dug stoneware clay.
A dense matte yellow glaze outside.

Wheel-thrown, with a porcelain slip dripped on, and circles trimmed from the top tossed back onto the shoulder of the form.
Glazed white inside.

A thinly thrown bowl whose form has been deconstructed a little, darted, & reassembled.
An opening left in the side makes the bowl a bit more like a basket.
A rusty matte glaze inside & out.

A tall traditional shape, wheel-thrown. Glazed white inside. The outside is glazed in a dense green that varies from an opaque matte to translucent.

A large platter with unglazed texture at the rim, revealing the rugged clay I dig in Abiquiu, New Mexico.
An opaque yellow glaze. Designed for use - food safe & oven-worthy.

Allowed to partially dry, the form is disassembled a little, then re-made.

A small vase, glazed white inside. The celadon exterior is brushed with an iron oxide stain, creating a casual, abstract, design.

Elements of the form, trimmed off during the throwing process, have been flung back at the bottle, reattaching & forming an unpredictable addition to the shape.

Across the street in our studio near the coffee shop, our dedicated studio production crew will be presenting work in their 3rd annual holiday show & sale.
