Potter's Wheel Primer January 9 - February 27
Note: as of December 17 registration is complete for this class. Please let me know via email if you’d like to be on the waitlist for the next round! - Theo
This class introduces the potter’s wheel, and explores basics of the pottery-making process. It also provides a terrific introduction to our small studio here at Green River Pottery.
A great class if you’ve always wanted to try the wheel, or if it’s been a while. Our classes are easygoing, conversational, methodical with, somehow, room for spontaneity too. We’ll cover clay preparation, wedging, centering, throwing, trimming, making handles & lids, as well as glaze application.
Also a great class if you have some experience & would like a weekly studio session to help guide your projects & to learn helpful tips. Each class meeting includes demonstration, discussion, worktime.
We are delighted to have Maya Miller returning to the studio this January. An experienced teacher & clay enthusiast, be sure to ask Maya if she’s planning to do more raku firings while she’s here this time…
Your class registration includes access to our worktime calendar to plan your independent sessions in the studio throughout the week & weekend (the calendar does charge $15 per three-hour session).
We’ll be working with cone 6 clay.
