Potter's Wheel Primer: Wednesday evening
Note: as of April 28 this class roster is full. Please email me if you’d like to be on the waitlist for the July-August session. Thank you - Theo
Our third 2025 session of this popular 8-week evening class. Note that we are switching from Thursday to Wednesday evenings - I apologize if this is inconvenient with your schedule!
This class is great if you are a beginner, making your first pots on the wheel. And, great if you have a bit of experience or would be continuing on from an earlier session.
We’ll cover fundamentals of working on the wheel, and explores basics of the pottery-making process - wedging, centering, throwing, trimming, and glazing. Our classes are easygoing, conversational, with demonstration by the teacher as well as opportunities to learn from your fellow students.
If you have some experience, the class provides guidance & helpful tips as you pursue your studio projects.
Your class registration includes access to our worktime calendar to plan your independent sessions in the studio throughout the week & weekend (the calendar does charge $15 per three-hour session).
We’ll be working with cone 6 clay & firing in the electric kilns.
