Potter's Wheel Primer Thursday evenings January 8 - February 26
This class introduces the potter’s wheel, and explores basics of the pottery-making process. It also provides a terrific introduction to our small studio here at Green River Pottery. 8 weekly class meetings are included.
A great class if you’ve always wanted to try the wheel, or if it’s been a while. Our classes are easygoing, conversational, methodical with, somehow, room for spontaneity too. We’ll cover clay preparation, centering, throwing, trimming, making handles & lids, as well as glaze application.
Also a great class if you have some experience & would like a weekly studio session to help guide your projects & to learn helpful tips. Each class meeting includes demonstration, discussion, worktime.
We are delighted to have Maya returning once again in January, teaching the first half of this class. In February another member of the Green River production crew will take over.
Your class registration includes access to our worktime calendar to plan your independent sessions in the studio throughout the week & weekend (the calendar does charge $15 per three-hour session).
We’ll be working with cone 6 clay.
