Here are some frequently asked questions about our beginning wheel class

How long is the waitlist?

The waitlist for the beginning wheel class is sometimes a month or two

What is ‘rolling registration?’

Our classes are small & individualized, with varieties of experience levels in each section. As soon as there’s space a new student joins - you may be working on your very first pieces, or working on your own projects, alongside others. Really, the class is a never-ending conversation we all share about learning clay

Once I begin, do I need to attend my 8 classes consecutively?

Yes. Unless there’s a holiday or postponement for some other reason, your registration is for consecutive weeks of class. Everybody misses one or two of course. As your 8 weeks begin, keep in mind the date of your final session so that you can plan to wrap up your work as the time approaches, or decide to renew your enrollment (once you’re ‘in’ it’s fine to keep your spot in class & continue for a second round)

What is included with my registration?

Your registration includes 8 consecutive classes plus materials, glaze, firing, for all the work you make. If you’re very prolific or are working on a very large scale - our firing fee may apply. You also have access to our worktime calendar to plan your independent sessions through the week & weekend (the calendar does charge $14 per two-hour session)

What is your cancellation policy?

After attending (or missing) your first scheduled class in your 8-week series, fine to email & request a full refund of your registration. After week three, we can issue a 50% refund of your registration. Beyond that, your class is non-refundable.

Do you have classes for kids?

We work with kids starting at age 8. We integrate all ages into our classes rather than separating into groups

I have worked with clay for years. I really just need studio space!

Teaching and learning are the main missions of our studio. Most people involved are working experimentally, rather than very productively. Space rental is not really part of our mission, so, if you have years of experience & are looking for a place to continue your practice, a larger & cheaper studio may be a better fit
